Agreement and eligibility

These terms are an agreement between you and Undefined Software, Inc., the parent company behind Cast. You must be at least 16. If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must permit your use and AI-likeness processing. You must use your own account, provide accurate information, and follow applicable law.

Your account, identity photos, and likeness

Upload only current identity photos of yourself. Your Cast profile photo is visible to other users in the app. Your separate identity selfie stays private in the app. You grant Undefined Software, Inc. a limited license to host, safety-screen, process, edit, and display these photos to operate Cast, including sending them to the disclosed AI providers.

Before either identity photo leaves the device for AI use, Cast obtains explicit, versioned permission. OpenAI screens the public profile photo and private identity selfie. While permission is active, Cast operators may include you in curated media, and mutual friends may select you in Cast-authored experiences that generate group photos or other media. Cast verifies the mutual relationship, active consent, and block status before resolving a private identity selfie on the server; the friend never receives the selfie. Generation sends only the references needed for that request through Vercel AI Gateway to the configured OpenAI or Google Gemini model. You can withdraw permission in Settings; withdrawal stops future use and removes both identity photos and generated media that includes you from the service.

Inside Cast, messages and media are limited to their intended mutual-friend recipients and shared group chats. Sent media may also appear in a sender’s profile archive to mutual friends who share the underlying chat. A recipient or depicted person may save or share media outside Cast. By enabling generation, you authorize Cast operators and eligible mutual friends using Cast-authored experiences to initiate fictional media using your private identity selfie. A friend may choose you only while you remain mutuals, your consent is active, and neither person has blocked the other. You authorize intended recipients and depicted people to view, save, and share the result, subject to these terms.

Your messages and media

You retain ownership of photos, videos, text, captions, game results, and other content you create. You must have the rights and permissions needed to send it, including permission from people shown or heard. You grant Undefined Software, Inc. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, adapt, display, deliver, safety-screen, and remove that content only as needed to operate, protect, and improve Cast. This license ends when the content is deleted, except for copies another user saved or shared outside the service and limited legal or backup retention.

Send content only to people you reasonably expect to receive it. Do not record or share private, intimate, copyrighted, or confidential material without permission. Recipients may save or share content outside Cast, so send only what you trust them to handle.

AI-generated media, filters, and games

AI-generated or AI-edited Cast photos and videos are fictional and must not be presented as real events. Cast supplies and curates the available templates and generation instructions; users choose an offered experience and eligible mutual friends, not a free-form prompt about another person. Results are safety-screened before sending and may still contain errors. Do not present generated media as evidence of a real event, statement, endorsement, or relationship.

Cast sends the public profile photo and private identity selfie directly to OpenAI’s moderation endpoint for safety screening. Operator-curated generation sends the base image, prompt, request metadata, and depicted people’s private selfies through Vercel AI Gateway to OpenAI, with Google Gemini available after a safety refusal. Cast-authored group-generation experiences may send the selected mutuals’ private selfies, a fixed composition template, and a fixed prompt through the Gateway to the configured OpenAI or Google Gemini model. The selecting friend never receives the private selfies and cannot supply the generation instructions. Cast configures no-prompt-training and does not opt in to provider model training. Generated output is screened before sending. OpenAI’s moderation endpoint has no abuse-monitoring retention. OpenAI may retain generation customer content for up to 30 days, and Google may retain Gemini generation content for up to 55 days, or longer when legally required or necessary to prevent harm.

Filters, camera effects, games, scores, rankings, and other mini-app features are for entertainment. They may change or be removed and do not award money, prizes, or anything of value unless separate official rules expressly say otherwise.

Prohibited use

Cast has zero tolerance for objectionable content, including child exploitation, grooming, sexual content involving minors, bullying, harassment, hate, non-consensual intimate imagery, and unlawful use of another person’s likeness.

• No exploitation, grooming, sexual content involving minors, bullying, harassment, threats, hate, graphic violence, or non-consensual intimate or likeness-based imagery.
• No impersonation, credential abuse, scraping, automated access, privacy-control evasion, or attempts to access another user’s private media.
• No spam or unlawful, infringing, deceptive, fraudulent, or dangerous use.

Safety and removal

You can report media, a message, or a profile and block another user in the app. A user-sent image or video thumbnail may appear briefly before automated screening completes. Operators review reports, track their status, remove reported content or profile photos, and suspend accounts. We may preserve evidence and restrict content or access to protect users, comply with law, or enforce these terms.

Service and deletion

The service, generated media, filters, and games are provided as available and may change, fail, or be inaccurate. To the extent permitted by law, Undefined Software, Inc. disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

No purchase is currently required. Settings lets you permanently delete your account and begin removal of its associated data, including created media and generated media containing you. We may suspend or terminate access for safety, legal compliance, abuse, or material violation of these terms.

App Store terms

These terms are between you and Undefined Software, Inc., not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and provides no warranty to the maximum extent permitted by law. Undefined Software, Inc., not Apple, is responsible for product claims, legal compliance, and intellectual-property claims relating to the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the iOS app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, subject to the App Store Usage Rules.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Except where prohibited, disputes will be resolved by binding individual arbitration in the United States under JAMS Streamlined Arbitration Rules. Either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual-property or likeness misuse. You waive jury trial and class actions to the extent permitted by law.
