Consent before any AI use
Before upload, you explicitly agree that, while consent is active, Pine may send your private identity selfie through Vercel AI Gateway to the OpenAI or Google Gemini model configured for a generation. This lets operators include you in curated media and lets an eligible mutual friend choose you in a Pine-authored group-generation experience. You can use Pine without enabling AI likeness use.
Provider model training is disabled. Generation content may remain in OpenAI abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days or Google abuse-monitoring logs for up to 55 days. You can revoke anytime in Settings → Privacy & Safety. See OpenAI data controls and Google abuse monitoring.
AI photo transformations
When you start an AI camera experience, the photo and other inputs needed for that transformation may be uploaded to the configured OpenAI or Google Gemini model through Vercel AI Gateway before you choose to send the result. This is separate from using a consenting friend's private identity selfie.
What consent covers
AI consent covers storing and using your private selfie as an identity reference. Your public profile photo is separate and can be set without enabling AI likeness use.Pine authors the available templates and generation instructions. Operators may start curated runs; you or an eligible mutual friend may start an offered group experience and select consenting mutuals. A friend never receives your private selfie or controls the generation prompt. A friend can include you only with active consent, mutual eligibility, and no block.
Inside Pine, posts are available to their intended friend recipients for 24 hours. Your archive is visible only to you. Comments and reactions on a post are visible to people who can access it; direct messages and private replies stay in the conversation. Public profile and link previews remain visible outside these in-app audience controls. Recipients or depicted people may save or share media outside Pine.
AI posts are fiction
AI-generated or AI-edited Pine photos and videos are fictional and must not be presented as real events. Do not present a post as proof of a real event, statement, endorsement, or relationship. Operator-curated generation output is screened before it can be sent.
Pine does not send identity photos, avatars, user-sent artifacts, or mini-app generations to OpenAI’s moderation endpoint. Operator-curated generation sends the base image, prompt, request metadata, and depicted people’s private selfies through Vercel AI Gateway to OpenAI, with Google Gemini available after a safety refusal, and screens that output with OpenAI’s moderation endpoint before sending. Pine-authored group-generation experiences may send the selected mutuals’ private selfies, a fixed composition template, and a fixed prompt through the Gateway to the configured OpenAI or Google Gemini model. The selecting friend never receives the private selfies and cannot supply the generation instructions. Pine configures no-prompt-training and does not opt in to provider model training. OpenAI’s moderation endpoint has no abuse-monitoring retention. OpenAI may retain generation customer content for up to 30 days, and Google may retain Gemini generation content for up to 55 days, or longer when legally required or necessary to prevent harm.
Revoke, report, remove
Revoking consent removes both identity photos, stops future likeness use, and removes generated media containing you. Report or block in-app anytime.
